I think it's time to welcome 2026 in... I know it's February 8, but January was just so long and cold and snowy here in Upstate NY.

Let's take it back to 2025 to start, it was a year for me personally, I lost a dear family member, learning to manage an autoimmune Dx and some other health issues all while running a private practice, starting a consulting business and in the middle of building a house ๐Ÿ™ƒ Let's just say did not handle things with calm and grace it was more of a clawing my way out of a dumpster fire but here I am. I can the that burn out was starting to edge into the frames of my life for a few months. At the beginning of the year I was reflecting on 2025 I was able to see it more, frustrated at work, at home, not socializing as much, I was just done. I wondered is there something I can do to prevent this in the future? How can I set my systems up to help me when life gets rough?

That's what made me REALIZE that I have been teaching peole the steps to start a practice, but we haven't been covering the HOW to run a practice for your life. That's what this is whole thing is about to begin with building a business so you get the have the life you want outside of work.

For me that looks like making a few changes in my practice and that's what it's all about, making changes that fit you. I actually decided to decrease the number of patient facing hours per week, while I get this autoimmune stuff sorted and have more time to dedicate to rest, movement and other activities. Gone are the days when I was in my 20s working 6 12 hour night shifts in a row ๐Ÿ˜‚ It also means looking at my caseload and what my capacity is because burn out is not related to volume but CAPACITY.
